Kapha-Pacifying: Expand and Warm Up
These practices will offer the student an opportunity to create a more expansive feeling in the body and mind. Postures and breath-enhanced movement will focus on shoulders, upper back, chest, lungs and extension of the spine.
According to Ayurveda, an ancient East Indian science and medicine, Kapha is a biodynamic force in the body that manages the qualities of the water and earth elements found in nature. Kapha-pacifying practices are suitable for cold, damp weather or when one feels sluggish of body and/or mind.
