Pitta-Pacifying: Unwind and Cool Down
These practices will offer the student an opportunity to create a calmer feeling in the body and mind. Postures and breath-enhanced movement will focus on abdominal exercises, seated postures, twisting and side bending of the spine.
According to Ayurveda, an ancient East Indian science and medicine, Pitta is a biodynamic force in the body that manages the qualities of the fire and water elements found in nature. Pitta-pacifying practices are suitable for hot, humid weather or when one feels overheated, impatient, and/or overworked.
